south side walk
.straight path
A straight path is traditional. A Greek temple in the wilderness was all about man over nature. The closer to the house, the more formal the garden should be. This IS the wilds of Indian territory at the time though so formality may well have stopped at the door. A straight path is traditional but curved edges might not be explicitly wrong. The entrance to the boxwoods should line up with the path.
Curving edges path
I'm not familiar with a curving edges path which is important for preservation. Bob installed one in brick. The existing left edge is curving and I'm merely mirroring that to the right for a symmetrical design. Greek revival is usually symmetrical. Research would answer the authenticity question.
